Handmade faux marble figurine of Veles with a lyre, the Slavic god of wealth, wisdom and the arts. Made in Ukraine.
Veles is one of the main gods of the ancient Slavs, patron of cattle, wealth and trade. He was also honoured as a patron of singers and poets: the Tale of Igor's Campaign calls the bard Boyan the grandson of Veles. That is why this figurine holds a lyre.
We make each figurine from faux marble and finish it by hand, so small details vary slightly from piece to piece.
A good choice for a figurine collection, for anyone who loves handmade work, or as a gift.
