Mavka Figurine, Hand-Painted
$59.00
Hand-painted polymer resin figurine of Mavka, the soul of the forest and heroine of Lesya Ukrainka’s “The Forest Song”. We make it in Ukraine.
“I am the life-giving force of the forest, I am its soul,” says Mavka, the heroine of the drama “The Forest Song” by Lesya Ukrainka. She is a symbol of the struggle between the material and the spiritual, between everyday life and dreams.
Mavka steps out of a willow at the beginning of the play and returns to it at the end. We reflected this in the figurine: her long dress gradually turns into bark and roots.
We make each figurine from polymer resin and paint it by hand with attention to every detail, so the shades and small details of each piece are unique and may vary slightly.
A fitting piece for a figurine collection, for lovers of handmade work, or as a unique gift.
